Dr. Shivashankar conducts artificial intelligence research, primarily in the areas of automated planning and robotics.
His publications include articles in top AI conferences, such as AAMAS, IJCAI and ICAPS. He has been invited to give research talks at AI labs in MIT, NRL, and Lehigh University, and served as a reviewer in the ACS 2014 and IROS 2015 conferences.
Dr. Shivashankar won the Best Student Paper award at ICAPS in 2014, as well as a Gannon Summer Research award in 2010 and a Kulkarni Foundation Summer Research fellowship in 2013. He was one of 25 Ph.D. students selected for the Future Faculty program at the University of Maryland.
