Socio-cultural Content in Language (SCIL) - Integrated System & Test-Bed
Project Description
Use of language can reveal the social attributes, goals and members of groups. IARPA is exploring novel algorithms for discovering and extracting social attributes such as religion and social status from language.
We are collaborating with the Navy Center for Applied Research in Artificial Intelligence (NCARAI) at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) to develop a system that integrates these algorithms and a test-bed for evaluating their performance.
Accomplishments
We developed the SCIL Technology Evaluation Platform ( STEP) that uses a Service-Oriented Architecture ( SOA) to enable performers' systems to submit and review their discovered assertions and socio-cultural claims. We provide the infrastructure for securing the performer system interactions with STEP.
